Get The Perfect Fit!

Behind The Seams

At Evaline's Bridal, we do custom alterations to sculpt your gown so that it fits you perfectly! We keep your gown safe and protected in our store free of charge, and we do all of the alterations in house. Most gowns need some sort of adjustment, but keep in mind that alterations can vary greatly, depending on how many changes are needed or wanted. Our seamstresses will custom fit your gown to you and will ensure your gown fits flawlessly for your wedding day. We hand press all gowns, veils, and slips purchased here for free, and we also offer alterations, pressing, and preservations on gowns not purchased from us.

What To Expect

Please keep in mind that alterations are an additional charge. We work hard to offer you the best possible prices on our wedding gowns and alterations take additional time and effort to make sure you get the best possible fit. While you are not required to have your dress altered with us, we highly suggest doing so. Evaline's Bridal is a small, local business, and we take pride in our careful, thorough work. We will work with you until you are fully satisfied with every last detail of your gown to make sure that you are happy when you come to pick up your dress.
Alterations usually take about an hour, so make sure that you set aside enough time for our seamstress to work with you. It is also important that you schedule your appointment in a timely manner so that we can make sure you get the best possible fit. We also ask that you give us a call or contact us if you are running late or need to cancel/reschedule your appointment. We understand that life is unpredictable, so if something comes up, please let us know so that we can find a time that works best for everyone.
When you are purchasing your gown, remember that if you are on the border between sizes, it is always more wise to go with the bigger size. If you purchase the gown that is a size up, it gives the seamstress the most alteration options; it is much easier to take a dress in, than to let a dress out! Also, the more labor-intensive the request, the more time and money you should allow for the process.

Timing Is Everything

It is important to time your alterations right. If you schedule your appointment too early, you might not end up with a proper fit. Everyone's body is different, which means you may lose or gain weight just weeks before your wedding. We like to schedule our bridal fittings no more than two weeks before your big day, and we schedule your final fitting the Saturday before your event.

What To Bring

When you arrive for your alteration appointment, we ask that you bring your undergarments, shoes, and accessories with you that you will be wearing on your wedding day. This will allow you to envision your overall wedding day look, and will also allow the seamstress to achieve the proper fit and length of your dress. We sell the correct undergarments at Evaline's, so don't panic if you don't already have everything you need.

Who To Bring

We encourage you to bring close family members or friends with you for your fitting. You might want to have your mom or another relative, friend, or bridesmaid accompany you so that you can have a second, reliable opinion. Be sure to bring those that will be helping you get dressed on your wedding day. We will show them how to properly put you in the gown as well as teach them how to lace and bustle your dress so that everything runs smoothly on your special day.
